The VEA mill of olives was acquired by Don Domingo Vea Sanclement in 1942. It has 3,250 fine trees of the Arbequina variety, most of them more than 200 years old.
They are planted on narrow terraces, which were built on the hill when it was reclaimed from ancient forests. The area has a very low rainfall and this, combined with the age of the trees, results in a low yield. The rich mineral makeup of the soil helps contribute to the extraordinary character of the oil.
Mr. Vea has applied a rigorous method of selection to these olives, and uses traditional production methods to obtain non pressed oil of exceptional quality.
