Marchesi de Frescobaldi Laudemio First Pressing Harvest 2014 Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 8.45 fl. oz
In Florence, the Marchesi de' Frescobaldi family name is synonymous with quality and tradition. The dynasty has been making wine and olive oil since the Reniassance, and in 1986, Bona Frescobaldi was responsible for conceiving of and creating the Laudemio Consortium of olive oil makers.
Lamberto Frescobaldi on the Laudemio 2014 harvest:
“It is true, the situation is very pesante (heavy) all over Tuscany and Italy,” says Lamberto Frescobaldi. Frescobaldi’s olive groves are spread throughout many estates in various part of the wine denominations of Chianti Ruffina and Pomino. These sit well over 500 meters above sea level on some of the highest points of the Tuscan Apennines, so the groves are full of “spectacular green healthy olives, unlike any of the lower altitudes near the Arno River,” says Lamberto.
The harvest began on October 17th and Frescobaldi hopes to be able to achieve “similar quality and volumes for our Laudemio extra virgin olive oil as in previous years. “
